Jennifers Wedding

Well what a weekend. My cousin Jennifer got married in Vegas and it was so much fun to see her take the big plunge. It was my first Vegas wedding and well I was a little disapointed because it was elegant and beautiful and there was only one drunk lady who laugh inappropriately. She was not from our family...as shocking as that may be, Darlene couldn't make it.

So here are the pictures.

So my pictures stink. I will get this figured out one day. Kelly should have better pictures...

For Dee

Deanne wants a monthly picture. I have some but I had to crop the unmentionables out. What a pain taking a picture of yourself. In the future I will leave the clothes on... Here is the 6 week picture.

This is the 2 month picture.

What my mother did to me...

The first week I found out I was pregnant I went to Monterey with my mom, Kasey, and Lindsey. I was already feeling the beginning of morning sickness and food was not my friend. I did not tell my mom yet because reality had not set in. Leaf and I both were kind of not sure what to do and trying to get our heads around the whole idea...a process that is on going.

So, off to Monterey with my mom and nieces. We went tide pooling where we dragged my mom up over every rock.

Then we set off to the Wharf where Lindsey ate a pile of clams that even the waiter was shocked by. Next, grandma was convinced that riding in a surrey would be fun. I protested. I argued that I was the only person over 5 feet tall and the only one who could reach the pedals. I was out voted.

For the next hour I listened to my lovely nieces yell about how old we were, slow we were, and to go further. At one point I even got off the surrey and ran behind pushing it. As much fun as they look they are a ton of work.

On top of the surrey adventure I worked in my moms classroom the whole next day. I climbed on ladders, carried boxes, and visited the bathroom a lot. All things I can do but at the time I just wanted a nap.

The Ultrasound

It just so turns out that I know my doctor...and well she knows me even better now. When I lost my job I lost my insurance. Luckily Leaf has coverage for both of us through UC Davis. So I contacted Jennifer Conwell and let her know I would be on my way. It works out great for me because I am more relaxed, I trust her, and she knows I am dramatic. For Leaf it is great because he can go to practically every doctors appointment since he is working at the same place.

Personally, I am not a big fan of how the picture was taken but I have a picture. Leaf got to see the baby's heartbeat and it moving like a wild thing. Obviously ADD starts in the womb. So far we do not know the sex of the baby so we call it Peanut for now.

Introducing Peanut

Now to the true purpose of this blog...Peanut. I wanted to start the blog to chronicle our adventures in parenting. The first week in August I was feeling "funny." My boobs hurt, I had food poisoning, and well you know the rest. So I took a test...which was positive. I took the test before Leaf got home and tried to pretend nothing was up. I wanted to surprise Leaf at dinner. The only problem was I am a slob and threw all the evidence out BUT the instructions which Leaf found. It still was a surprise and obviously he was pretty happy.

And so it begins....

The thing I most despise I have become, a blogger. Yes it is true, I have embarked down the path of no return. The self centered world of people who believe the world really gives a rats patooey about them. I know my mom and grandmother will love it, for Pete's sake, they actually listen with genuine concern to all my stories....unlike some other people I know (sisters, husband). And so it begins the world of me, myself, and I.
